Ready To Transform this Land Kenya for Better!

Together, we are rebuilding our nation Kenya.

Education for All

Deplorable classrooms state, lack of reading and writing materials among other requirements that would make learning worth are lacking. We seek to transform our schools into modern technology.

There are workable plans that need to be put into action! Statekeholders have failed to come with very tangible solutions to rebuild our Kenya tourist destinations. We must use our labour to build our strength!

We Need Change!

Food Security
National Security
National Industrialization
Community Based Economics
Strengthened Transport Systems
Affirmative action on Corruption

We Build our Country to Represent our Values

Our party is an issue based Party. It is a party bigger than individuals in it. We must move away from parties built on personality cults to parties anchored on institutional identity defined by clear policies. We have escaped from downward mentalities that insist on conditioning our people.

We are fearless warriors of this great Nation, to choose optimism over skepticism, courage over cowardise and most of all of purpose over discord and tribalism.
We will reclaim our land and detox it of all the poison of ethnic hatred, tribal profiling and all negative jingoism. We abandon the poisoned past behind us.

We urge you to reject those naysayers and begin to interact with us – us who have deficient beliefs that will bring changes in this country. We are voice of frustrated Kenyans that are domiciled in all corners of this great nation.

The secret of victory is to continue in assignment. Every man under assignment will fight three battles. 1. Accusations 2. Frustrations 3. Inner circle battle

Dogs never bark at parked cars. Pirates never capture empty vessels. A tree with fruits attract stone throwers…

Just remember when the devil cannot fight you, he fights what is around you or uses the people around you to fight you

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win”
Mahatma Gandhi

“True democracy is a project that’s much bigger than any one of us. It’s bigger than any one person, any one president, and any one government. It’s a job for all of us.” -Obama

“True leadership often happens with the smallest acts, in the most unexpected places, by the most unlikely individuals.” – Michelle Obama

About the County Government of Bungoma

Bungoma County is home to an estimated 1.7 million people and sits on an area of 2,069 km². Bungoma is the 3rd populous County after Nairobi and Kakamega.

It borders three Counties: Kakamega on the South, Trans Nzoia on the North and Busia on the West. It also enjoys a vast shared international border with Uganda.

Bungoma County has 9 constituencies and 45 County Assembly wards. The 9 constituencies, which also serve as Sub-Counties, include Kanduyi, Bumula, Webuye East, Webuye West, Kabuchai, Sirisia, Tongaren, Kimilili and Mt. Elgon.

The Wards in Bumula are: Bumula, Khasoko, Kabula, Kimaeti, Siboti, S. Bukusu and W. Bukusu. In Kanduyi: Bukembe-East, Bukembe-West, Khalaba, Musikoma, Sang’alo-East, Sang’alo-West, Township and Tuuti-Marakaru. Kabuchai has four wards, namely: Bwake-Luuya, Kabuchai-Chwele, Mukuyuni and West Nalondo. In Webuye East has Maraka, Mihuu and Ndivisi wards. In Webuye West, there is Bokoli, Miendo, Matulo, Sitikho and Misikhu. Sirisia has 3 wards: Kulisiru/Malakisi, Lwandanyi and Namwela. The vast Tongaren has 5 wards: Ndalu, Naitiri-Kabuyefe, Milima, Soi Sambu-Mitua and Tongaren. Kimilili has 4 wards: Kamukuywa, Kibingei, Kimilili and Maeni.

Bungoma is a melting pot of sub-tribes and cultures including the Bukusu, Teso, Sabaot, Tachoni, Batura, Bongomek and the Banubi. The fusion of the different cultures and traditions has boosted County’s potential as a destination for cultural tourism.

Still, even with the diverse cultures, Bungoma has remained the most peaceful County in the region even in the heat of politics – a fact that has seen many other communities pitch homes and businesses in the County and lifted its profile as an investment hub.

Bungoma County is strategically located as the gateway to Uganda and into other Eastern and Central Africa countries including Rwanda, Burundi and Southern Sudan.

The County enjoys two shared (gazetted) border points with Uganda through Lwakhakha and Chepkube. Malaba in Busia is only 43km from the County’s Central Business District. Its vantage position in the region makes it ideal for cross-border trade with Uganda and other countries on the Northern Corridor.

Bungoma County is served with an extensive network of roads, two airstrips (in Bungoma and Webuye) and a rail system on which a cargo train plies. All these have served to catalyze mobility of people and movement of goods from one place to another.

Underpinning Bungoma County’s economic strength is agriculture: sugarcane, tobacco, coffee, onions, vegetables, sunflower and dairy cattle. Maize in Tongaren and Naitiri also make the county a vital part of the region’s breadbasket.

Bungoma records heavy rainfall throughout the year and is home to several high rivers, which are used for small-scale irrigation. Fertile lands, rivers with falls that can generate electricity, tourist sites and hard-working people give Bungoma the potential to stand as a commercially high potential investment County.

Other key economic activities include trade, a booming hotel industry and a vibrant retail (supermarkets) sector.

In Bungoma, historical sites, scenic hills, high rivers and whispering waterfalls, all make for a superb destination for tourists.

A visit to Chetambe Fort, the Golan Heights of Bungoma, from where the Bukusu and Tachoni watched the advancing colonialists is a must-see in the Western Kenya tourism map.

The fort, built behind a protective 12-foot defensive ditch by Chetambe Ifile, a Tachoni warrior, from where he mobilised his troops to resist colonial rule, leading to the 1895 massacre in which more than 450 people were killed by the British, endures to date.

From the hill, one has a panoramic view of Webuye – once a sleepy town that is revving back to life. Hardly a kilometre away, is the Nabuyole Falls on the River Nzoia, where tourists troop to watch the water cascade a full seven-metre height to the cake-brown rocks below.

Mt Elgon forms a ring around the County to the north and part of the east. Apart from sightseeing, it forms part of the Kenya-Uganda border with caves that open in Kenya onto Uganda.

There is another beautiful waterfall on River Kuywa at Teremi, one with great potential for a hydro-electricity power plant.

Awaiting the tourists eyes are three trees of historical significance, planted by founding President Jomo Kenyatta, Uganda’s first President Milton Obote and Elijah Masinde, a revered Bukusu leader of Dini Ya Msambwa.

Twenty kilometres south, another two landmarks stand – the Mwibale wa Mwanja and Sang’alo hills. From the summit of Mwanja Hills, there is a superb view of Mumias Town and Mumias Sugar Miller in neighbouring Kakamega County, Bungoma and Webuye, plus an endless vista of a thick carpet of sugarcane and other crops.

In the caves and thick forest foliage that envelope Mt Elgon reside an array of wild animals. The pigmy elephants that wander between Kenya and Uganda Kenya have made a maternity of one of the caves in the mountain.

Maeni, about 10KM from Kimilili, is home of the Dini Ya Msambwa (Church of Spirits) of Elijah Masinde. Today, Dini Ya Msambwa is a fading but whose place in Kenya’s liberation history is marked with an indelible ink.

The people of Bungoma have passed on their culture from one generation to the next through the spoken word (khubita and Kumuse), music and dance as well as oral narratives. The different sub-tribes have taken every stage of transition – from birth, circumcision to marriage and death as a platform to pass on their messages to young generations

Through music and dance – known for both its energy and grace – Bungoma has earned a reputation as a County of storytellers. The County’s famous dance styles have gone on to earn global accolades with contemporary musicians like Sauti Sol deploying Lipala in their chart bursting and award winning hits. Kamabeka (the electric shaking of shoulders, has also caught on in party scenes like an uncontrollable epidemic.
