On this post, we look at Uber requirements for vehicles in Kenya as of 2019. This is by far the largest and most convenient cab company in Kenya. It was launched in 2015 and currently offers its services in Nairobi and Mombasa; Kenya’s largest cities.  The uber app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Appstore.

Uber offers three options, the Uber Chap Chap, Uber Select and Uber X.  Uber select is the most expensive while Uber Chap Chap is the cheapest. Fares for Uber Chap Chap start at Ksh 100 while Uber X starts at Ksh 150. After downloading the app, one can request a ride. Then a nearby driver will accept your request and the estimated cost for the ride will be displayed on your app.  The app also shows the estimated time of the ride.

Uber drivers are always fast in picking up and responding to requests, thus making it the most reliable taxing hailing company in Kenya. Uber allows individuals to drive their cars and earn commissions as partners. This way, you can make extra cash from driving on your schedule.  However, there are requirements that your vehicle must meet to be accepted.
